Sean Burns, RA LEED BD+C


Sean Burns is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he holds a Masters of Architecture degree with specialization in Design and Theory. Currently, Sean is an Instructor of Architecture and serves as the Coordinator of the common First-Year program that includes the Departments of Architecture, Urban Planning, and Landscape Architecture. 

Sean's current interests involve how architecture can embrace aspects and techniques of narratology to provide a positive impact on people's cognitive interpretation, experience and memories of the built environment. Prior to joining the faculty at Ball State, Sean worked for various architectural firms in New York City including Rafael Viñoly Architects and FXFowle as a registered architect and LEED Accredited Professional. 

Some of the noteworthy projects that Sean has worked on during his career include Brookfield Place (formerly known as the World Financial Center) in lower Manhattan and the Carrasco Airport Terminal in Montevideo, Uruguay.
