Professional Degree Programs
Our graduate degree develops a student’s capacity for creative, cumulative and critical thinking; design literacy; and a lifelong cultivation of design. Accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) it is for students who seek professional licensure. Ball State University offers two options for completing the Master of Architecture professional degree:
2-Year M.Arch Program
The two-year Master of Architecture program is for students with an undergraduate pre-professional degree in architecture from a school with an accredited program.
3-Year M.Arch Program
The three-year Master of Architecture program is for students with an undergraduate degree in a field other than architecture
Ball State University's Department of Architecture offers two graduate certificates that allow students to distinguish themselves with an area of focus.
Digital Design and Fabrication Certificate
The graduate certificate in design computation and digital fabrication which encourages students to pursue a broad spectrum of inquiries in the translation of digital processes, while simultaneously working alongside industry partners in an open and collaborative environment.
Social and Environmental Justice Certificate
The graduate certificate in social and environmental justice prepares students to address the impacts of design decisions on stakeholder communities and to weigh design options relative to their potential effects on populations who are often excluded from participation in the design process.
