George Elvin, Ph.D.
Dr. George Elvin is an Associate Professor in the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University. His research on nanotechnology, wearable computers and other innovative design technologies has been published by Princeton Architectural Press, the International Journal of Architectural Computing, the American Institute of Architects, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. Dr. Elvin received his PhD in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley in 1998, worked professionally in Europe and Asia, and owned a design-build firm in Washington DC
for twelve years. In 2005 he held a Visiting Research Fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities at the University of Edinburgh. A frequent speaker worldwide on green building, nanotechnology and sustainability, Dr. Elvin has also served as the editor-in-chief of the annual American Institute of Architects Report on University Research, and is the author of “Integrated Practice in Architecture” published by Wiley.
